Frequently Asked Questions

Most Landlords prefer to get a feel for you as a tenant first of all and therefore like to start of with a 6 month tenancy agreement to start with. At Hewitt Adams we think this is important and recommend the same – It also gives you as a tenant the chance to verify this really is the right property for you.
This will often depend on whether you are full time employed or not. Your Landlord is also likely to ask for a reference from your current landlord if you are already in rented accommodation. Hewitt Adams will also use the regular government approved channels to check your credit history and reference you this way.
In most cases it is quite simple to extend your tenancy. It is really all just down to your Landlord being happy to do so. It’s therefore really important as a tenant to maintain your rented property to a good standard and be prompt with your monthly rent payments in accordance with your tenancy contract.
